My favorite would be Water for Elephants, of course! 
Cold Mountain is on my 100 books list (which I've been neglecting lately) and I'm definitely looking forward to reading it. I'm sure it will be very good...I loved the movie with Nicole Kidman and Jude Law.Find other thoughts at BTT.
