Thoughts for Thursday

Who is the best (or, I guess, worst) literary villain?

I have to go with Edmund from King Lear by Shakespeare. He's a deceitful, adulterous, manipulative, murderous bastard. Yep, that sums it up. He admits it in Act I, Scene 2: "Now, gods, stand up for bastards!"

Read King Lear online at The Literature Page.
